Short Biography

Thomas Körfer is actually Global Director for Diesel Systems at FEV Group in Aachen. 
His previous roles were Group Vice President for Diesel Powertrains at FEV Group, EU Vice President for Light-Duty Diesel and Chief Engineer for Diesel Systems, located in Aachen, Germany. Thomas spent his entire professional career – more than 30 years - within the FEV organisation, in different roles and responsibilities.

Thomas has focused his full engineering career on Diesel combustion systems development and optimization – mainly for Light-duty Diesel engines – regarding efficiency improvement, power increase and emission reduction, first by internal measures, later as well with exhaust aftertreatment systems. His expertise includes usage of all kinds of fuels on CI engines, from alcohol fuels like Methanol over bio-fuels till today’s new synthetic fuels like OME/DME, Octanol, Butanol, latest also entering H2 utilization on former Diesel applications. 

Thomas received his Engineering Diploma / Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aachen Technical University (RWTH Aachen).
