Description of project

The A26 highway of Linz is a project to improve the traffic situation in Linz an the city's surroundings. The project takes place between the junction Linz/Hummelhof (A7) and the interchange Danube North. The project is realised in three sections (construction phase 1 - 3). Construction phase 1 includes the construction of the Danube bridge as well as of the interchage to the minor road network.

According to the EIA notification of permission GZ. BMVIT-314.526/0048-IV/ST-ALG/2014 point 4.26, a continuous measurement of the pollutants NO2, PM10 and PM2.5 as well as of the meteorological parameters wind speed and wind direction was required for this construction phase.

Additionally, the notification determines alarm thresholds for PM10 with 300 µg/m³ for the one-hour mean value and 100 µg/m² for the daily mean value. In case of exceeding these alert thresholds, the construction supervisor for airborne pollutants had to be informed after validating and evaluating the measurement data.

The measurement of the airborne pollutants NO2, PM10 and PM2.5 was carried out within the scope of the accreditation. The measurement of the meteorological components was operated within the framework of the ISO 9001 certification.
